Good morning. First, I liked Martina very much. She is really delightful. I think she is good at teaching people with little to no experience with watercolor like me. She was very helpful and interested in teaching. I am glad I attended the class, however, there were issues I need to mention. I know you do not have control over the weather. It was certainly not the instructor's fault either. The winds were 13-20 mph with gusts as well. It was 55 degrees at 10 AM and 58 at 12 AM. The temperature would be great, but the wind made it impossible for me to hear her. It was a struggle for me the entire class. It was cold and windy, as I said, and so I was miserable. At one point, there was a gust of wind and another student's pad of watercolor paper flew up and hit me in the chin, which demonstrates the windiness of the morning. There was nothing to break the wind. All that being said, I want to take more classes, however, I want to know if you give refunds or credit for another class if there is weather that isn't conducive to learning. Or do you ever have indoor venues? I am very interested in learning much more about watercolor and will take as many classes as I am able. Kind regards, Rebecca Marseglia

It was cold outside but that wasn't the instructor's fault. Martina was very encouraging as a instructor and chose good exercises to learn with. My wife and I enjoyed the class. We would definitely take a class again with Martina.

Two days before hurricane Beryl made landfall on the Texas coast, the first outer band hit Houston with thunder, lightning and pouring rain. The sky darkened too and turning to my brushes helped me deal with the anxiety. It was also good practice for working with masking fluid.

I love photography and travel. have many photos that I have taken in those trips and they have been tucked away. I am a Graphic Designer and love to paint and draw. Been drawing my whole life. Didn't know what to do with all those photos until I recently discovered Urban Sketching. I put my gears into motion and have been practicing for the past two weeks. So now I take my camera everywhere so I can take photos, paint them and share them with the world. This particular photo was taken on June 1

This little calf had wandered away from her mother and was playing in a pasture, nearing sunset. She looked to be having so much fun as she pranced and bucked around, playing by herself. I call this Patsy In the Pasture. The location is on a ranch in Fort Bend County, Texas This is an 8x8 watercolor on 100 cotton, cold press.

I find painting dogs very interesting because their appearance is so varied. This golden doodle is from a friend's photo of her pet Gracie. I painted a loose background in watercolours then painted negatively to pick out the wavey and curly areas of her coat. Gouache picked out some lighter areas. I find painting without a drawing creates a looser result. I start with the nose and measure from there.

Once COVID hit, and we knew we weren't going anywhere, my family & I decided to get chickens. We picked out these 3 chicks from a local farm. We created a brooder in our living room, and my kids enjoyed creating a parkour/maze for them to run around in. During a moment of rest, I captured a photo of them & knew that I wanted to paint it one day. Additional info - watercolor on Arches, size 8x8
