Good morning. First, I liked Martina very much. She is really delightful. I think she is good at teaching people with little to no experience with watercolor like me. She was very helpful and interested in teaching. I am glad I attended the class, however, there were issues I need to mention. I know you do not have control over the weather. It was certainly not the instructor's fault either. The winds were 13-20 mph with gusts as well. It was 55 degrees at 10 AM and 58 at 12 AM. The temperature would be great, but the wind made it impossible for me to hear her. It was a struggle for me the entire class. It was cold and windy, as I said, and so I was miserable. At one point, there was a gust of wind and another student's pad of watercolor paper flew up and hit me in the chin, which demonstrates the windiness of the morning. There was nothing to break the wind. All that being said, I want to take more classes, however, I want to know if you give refunds or credit for another class if there is weather that isn't conducive to learning. Or do you ever have indoor venues? I am very interested in learning much more about watercolor and will take as many classes as I am able. Kind regards, Rebecca Marseglia

Local artist Arthur Deatly, has painted the Gulf coast region for over 20 years in the Plein Air style. Working from direct observation, he has traversed Houston and surrounding areas painting the city, towns and countryside he knows.

A graduate of Kansas City Art Institute in painting in 1981, he has maintained a steady and varied career in the Visual Arts. He has studied and practiced his trade since he left college yet still learn something knew every time he goes out and paints.
Joshua Fraga
Born in Houston, Texas, I've had the benefit of learning many different styles to the art that I do. I'm a "custom artist", meaning that I will do most any project, no matter the specs. I love painting and crafting, but my love lies within art itself. Being to express one's self without words is the crux of everything art is and could be in the future. In my humble opinion, that is one of the best things we can hope for, is to, in a meaningful way, articulate emotion successfully on something other than our own soul... something easily seen by others.
Art is in essence, is in everything we do as human beings. once we know and accept that, it allows for students to surpass their teachers, and become masters of the craft, themselves. That is the true power of art, when harnessed properly, one can master anything...

1st. Watercolor...This piece was done from a photo reference of a home my wife liked. A dream of ours to live near the coast. As watercolor isn't my usual medium, this was my first attempt at a complete work. I seem to bring more illustration techniques to this medium. I am trying to paint more loosely and learn more light techniques. My main interest in joining watercolor groups is for inspiration, viewing others works, styles and to learn more. This work was created using a ? spontaneous watercolour? technique. The first layer of colour was applied randomly wet on wet. The paint created the framework for the scene, which I enhanced with detailing. I love the way watercolours can paint themselves, almost as if the scene was just waiting to be revealed and I just uncovered it.
